This Toma Landai Mask, Liberia and Guinea region, is strong and represents a very secret male society known as the Poro. This society would wear the masks horizontally on their heads and holding the mask by the horns on top. They were used during initiations of young men into adulthood, and sometimes were hidden until they were used for these initiations. A very ceremonial and special mask to add to your collection.
